Hi friends! Happy Wednesday! Today I am excited to share my favorite rugs, plus how to pick the right size rug for your space. I wanted to finish this post before the weekend because there are some amazing Memorial Day Sales you don’t want to miss! I get so excited when I pick out stuff to share with you guys. I seriously enjoy it so much! Below, I created a collection of varies styles of rugs. Any of them would make a statement in your space!
Picking the rug isn’t the hard part, it’s figuring out what size would look best in your space. Continue reading to learn my tip on how to make sure you pick the right size for your space.
Pictured above, is the rug in our bedroom. When I was looking for a rug, I wanted one that would provide enough standing room along the bed without going too close to the wall. Since we hadn’t moved into our house yet and had no furniture, I had to improvise when it came time to selecting the rug size. So, I googled the size of a king size bed and made an outline on the floor with painters tape where I wanted the bed to go. Then I looked at the rug dimensions and outlined the size I thought would work for our space.
Once both sets of tape were on the floor, it was easy to see if it was the right size for our space. We ended up going with an 8×11. I was drawn to this rug, because of the dimension and light tones. Usually, area rugs are 8×10 and not 8×11. This size worked perfectly for us because our room is fairly narrow. If our room was bigger, I would’ve
I personally love the looks of an 8×10 in a living room. One thing to remember is it’s okay to not have the furniture completely on the rug. I actually prefer to have the furniture about halfway off the rug like pictured below. I hope this blog post helped you find a rug you love and decide what size would work best for your space.
